Everything about this rum is good. It's easy to drink straight and mixes well with anything. It's one of my must have in the bar rums. I'll buy barrels of it if they'll let me.
pokud očekáváte ovocnou bombu, tak se jí nedočkáte. Velmi jemný náznak ananasu
I have really found I enjoy Plantation's offerings, so expected this to be something I would enjoy and was correct. Obviously a lot is mentioned here about sugar added in Plantation rums, but that has never been a problem for me. I test this rum with a pineapple daiquiri as well as a pineapple rum old fashioned and both did not disappoint.
I do think there seems to be a misconception of what this pineapple rum is. It's rum with pineapple notes, not citrus acid. So if you're expecting rum and pineapple juice that is not this. The pineapple notes are subtle but very noticeable if doing a side by side tasting with say Plantation 5 year.
Update: After spending more time with this rum it has moved from 7 to 8 for me. I find this to be a good budget-ish sipper. It's fun because of the pineapple notes and with Plantations sugar added it's kind of like a cocktail sipper neat. I think there is a good value in this one.
Easy sipping rum with the right amount of pineapple sweetness. On ice to open it up.
I have had every pineapple rum I could get my hands on here in Australia and this was the best of them... not a massive accomplishment as the whole category is mostly swill although to be fair the amount I can get my hands on is small maybe we just import the bad ones. I do like this rum but it definitely doesn't live up to the standards of the rest of plantation's line up
The nose is sweet but not overly so.
"Smells very much of fresh pineapple as opposed to sweetened tinned pineapple."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Mostly smoke and alcohol, very slight hint of pineapple. Decent for mixing. Shame, I really wanted to like it.
