I did not expect this to be a sipper, but the spices & flavors are not great. It worked fine mixing with soda, but I would prefer to have a more versatile rum. There are better choices in this price range.
Rather than thinking; “well this is really bad but I’ll hang onto it anyway”, this needs to be put out if your mind, pour it down the drain. Each time you see the bottle it will remind you how bad it is, you will never want to drink it, as then depression on the fact you actually purchased it will set it,, pretend it never happened.
Typically, Kirkland products are high quality and similar to the leading national brand. Not this one.
This is one of the best mixer rum deals out there. If I'm having an outdoor party this rum is on the list but if I'm mixing alone, Sailor Jerry is my spiced rum.
Flavors taste very artificial. Decent mixing rum for the price
Let me first say that I absolutely love many Kirkland wines and their 12yr blended whisky (the only blended I like). I figured, it's a cheap rum made in the Caribbeans so it can't be bad. Boy was I wrong. This rum is absolutely terrible. It doesn't go well, neat, on the rocks or in cocktails. Rum and coke & dark and stormy are my go to summer drinks and while each rum has it's distinctive profile, I never had any issues with any of the spiced rums from Cruzan, Bacardi, Flor de Cana, Brugal and other brands I tried but this one is just not drinkable. I gave the bottle to a friend who didn't seem to mind the overpowering medicinal taste much and I'll never buy one again.
A cheap spiced rum with a better than average taste. Good for parties where you need larger amounts. For a rum from Costco, not too bad but not a high end rum. Huge bottle and cheap.
Initial overwhelming vanilla flavor then you are drinking rubbing alcohol does not even mix well. This is a Sazerac Company product ....
As most of the reviews state this rum has a bite to it but I actually quite enjoyed it with half an ice cube to dilute and chill it.
that little bit of water brings out more of the nutmeg and vanilla notes which are quite nice.
Overall it's a good affordable mixer that in a pinch is drinkable with some ice
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Get what you pay for on this one. Seems best used for mixed drinks. Vanilla note too strong.
