Wonderful nose. Slight burn though smooth..hints of vanilla and maple. Not too sweet.
Firstly the bottle is gorgeous and is an immediate indication of what youβre in for. Everything from the oval shape, the weight, the number on the tag and the half effective cork set a tone no other rum Iβve had compares to.
The taste speaks quality body and leather. Leather like a good whiskey almost. I forget at one point it was not a rum. But I want a rum. My only knock I could find is that it is not rummy enough. Whatever it is though, it is truly a pleasure if youβre in the mood for it. Right now though I just want some fuc**** rum!
Yummy and has a long lasting finish. Would recommend and looking forward the others from the collection
One of the best rums I have tried so far. Definitely a sipper, don't you dare mix it. Very elegant and smooth, you will definitely taste the vanilla.
Less apricot more wood in here.
I loved the balance of wood with apricot from the 12y. That's why I prefer the 12 years old.
But still, this is a good rum and more complex than the 12y, a logical continuation. But if you like the aroma of the old celar like I do, don't miss the 12y old.
Smell: wood, some barrel, a hint of vanilla, caramel, apricot, sherry (or something sweet), dry fruits
Taste: dry fruit, some vanilla, some caramel, some oak and apricot, some bitterness. Aftertaste of sherry.
Sweetness: 1.5/5
Spice: 2/5
Fruit: 2.5/5
Mildness: 3.5/5
Value (40β¬): 3.5/5
Nice noise, nice tasting not to sweet and a lot of toffee tast I can't wait for the 23 year old cheers
Excellent flavor and the aromas are awesome. I open it every night just to nose it.
To be entirely honest, this one is similar to the 23. The main difference between the two is that the 23 is somewhat smoother, as age tends to do to any alcohol that lends itself to aging.
Otherwise, however, this one is almost as good. I mainly gave it a 7 simply because it isn't as smooth, and that smoothness is something I value. It has a very similar flavor profile to the 23, and, thus, similar drinkability. I absolutely recommend it.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This has been my favorate rum for years. This goes down so smooth and the subtle tastes are phenominal. The hint of caramel at the end is what puts this at the 10 for me. A single frozen rock cube and to sit in the rum for 3 minutes to cool it makes this a taste to not miss.
