It is a cognac-like aroma with a vanilla flavour before the solid body and a bit sweetness at the end.
This one has a beautiful sweet smooth texture to it with lots of vanilla honey and a slight caramel.
The aftertaste is nice but doesn't last long enough
8 for an 18-year Dominican
Very nice package, great taste and smell, better than 12Y.
This is now my go to Rum. The taste versus price makes it great. Smooth, balanced, vanilla, but not sweet. Absolutely delicious.
Úžasná vůně vanilky, pečeného cukroví. Není to doslazovaný rum, je sušší, ale nějaká sladkost tam je.V chuti jemná vanilka, skořice. Nádherná láhev.Za mě velmi dobrý rum.
Smooth, but lacking any depth of flavor. 12 year is better & 23 year miles above both.
Sipping it straight side by side with a 15 yr. Havana Club ....HC is much better.
Just rated 12 this is a notch better but still leaves me lacking for more. I would order it in a heart beat at a bar but not as much in an upscale liquor store. Dark sweet somewhat complex but does not take me all the way there.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

It is at least 18 years old Dominican rum aged in ex-bourbon oak barrels. So it's not a solera.
The bottle has a nice chubby shape and each has its own number on the leaf on the neck. The cap is cork.
Color: It is dark amber and no colouring should be used.
Aroma: Vanilla dominates here. The smell is sweet, but from the beginning you can also feel a slight alcohol. I also smelled unsweetened creme brulle and almonds. At the end, the woody tones of oak are also visible.
Taste: Vanilla predominates in the taste. It is very soft and naturally slightly sweet. But K&S 18 is more of a drier rum. After drinking on the palate and on the tongue, it heats up, but does not burn. The end is slightly bitter.
Aftertaste: Medium long, fine dryness on the palate.
Dos Maderas 5 + 5 reminds me the most in taste, but Maderas is a bit sweeter. K&S 18 is again finer. This is a very recommended piece.
