Smagt på Romhattens romfestival i Århus august 2020. For tør til min smag

A beautiful dark amber rum. The nose is slightly grassy, rubbery and toasted with notes of caramel, wood, nutmeg and perhaps a little plum. More complex and rounder than the younger 12 year brother. Absolutely love the aroma. In the mouth I pick up the same character found in the nose. Well executed and balanced. It's initially "juicy" and rounded with a slightly spicy and dry peak at the end. Good value for money agricole. Thumbs up.

Jeg smagte denne rom til Romhattens romfestival 2020. Ikke noget, der falder så meget i min smag.

Tested this one together with the 12yo and I find this one a little too oaky for my taste. I like the 12yo better.
But this one is also a great Agricole, maybe I will appreciate better after some more testing. It has a great flavour, it’s smooth but a little bit too oaky.

Tento rum pochádza z karibského ostrova Martinique a má peknú svetlejšiu jantárovú farbu. Po prvom ovoňaní by človek ani nepovedal, že je to rum. Pripomína skôr whisky. Je výrazne drevnatá, cítiť dobre vypálený drevený súdok, škoricu, sušené slivky. Keď rum dlhšie postojí, rozvinú sa typickejšie rumové arómy. Hrozienka, oriešky, kakao...Chuť rumu je suchá, tanínová, skrátka horkejšia. Dochuť je plnynulá, stredne dlhá, znova stopy po dubovom sude. Toto je ukážkovo stárený agricole rum. Čiže rum vyrobený priamo z vylysovanej šťavy z cukrovej trstiny. Aj keď je tento rum ukážkové dielo svojho druhu, nie je to moja šálka kávy.

Прекрасный комплексный аромат рома длительной выдержки, которому нужно значительное время на раскрытие всех нюансов. Здесь уже мало осталось от исходного сырья и большую роль играют бочки. В носу нас встречает прям какое-то ягодное буйство (ирга, голубика, черноплодка, тёмный виноград, чёрная смородина, вишня, малина) скорее в таком состоянии варенья-пятиминутки с пенкой, чернослив, богатство пряностей (корица, гвоздика, имбирь, мускатный орех), землисто-грибные, кожаные, чайные, древесные и кофейные ноты, апельсиновый, банановый и персиковый ликёр, манго, маракуя, печёные яблоки и груши и немного бурбоновой лакокраски.

Потрясающий округлый, но при этом содержательный и постоянно развивающийся вкус с тонами сладкого чёрного чая, тропических фруктов (манго, папайи, маракуи), цитрусовых, ягод, сухофруктов, нуги, кофе, шоколада и специй. Землистый привкус тростникового сока.

Продолжительное послевкусие с тонами сухофруктов, земли, грибов и мускатного ореха.

Отличный ром, вкусный, многогранный, играющий множеством красок. Не такой «взрывающий мозг», удивляющий при первом знакомстве, как белый невыдержанный агриколь, более сдержанный, но при этом и более содержательный, интересный. Думаю, по достоинству оценят как простые потребители, так и ромовые гики.

8:The nose of this rum is disconcerting, as the aromas explode in your face from the very first moment. Both fresh and deeply spicy, the nose is very woody and expressive. It succeeds in combining strong notes of velvety honey with intoxicating power. The woodiness is finely spiced and very classy, like a cigar box. Still in these very woody tones, we now smell the slight smoke of a crackling wood fire. Licorice and a mix of dried fruits, including apricot, diffuse their aromas in this warmth.
Aeration confirms the complexity and richness of this rum. Peanut paste adds thickness, and the finesse of a stone brandy shows another sign of distinction. This is a concentrated, generous and fragrant rum. The chocolate is fine and gourmand, the cane sophisticated and concentrated to the point of becoming a golden, sticky resin.
8,5:The palate is more natural and raw. This old rum manages to retain the soul of its youth, with a peppery cane. It is both complex and smooth, with astringent wood and melting tannins on the tongue. The dried fruit is savory and mellow, the prune is fleshy, but the spices are lively enough to sustain the rum's ardor, which is diffused without losing its intensity.
8,3:Candied cane, dried fruit, licorice and mellow tannins never leave the palate once tasted.

Aroma is typical agricole with fresh grass tones mixed with oak. In first taste is typical freshness of agricole rums, but smoothed by aging. Than you will discover more and more layers of fresh, fruity/herbal/grass tones. Aftertaste is long and pleasant. Very good matured agricole for fair price (60Eur in Czech Republic). 8,5 points (+0,5 for agricole lovers)
