Pleasantly surprised. Very good flavor as a mixer. Will try on the rocks soon
Nothing about this is "anejo" because any other flavor is overpowered by cherry.
... that somehow I find attractive. Coffee, vanilla and the other usual suspects plus a not unpleasant peppery finish. Excellent with mixers and as THE ingredient for homemade rum cake. Oddly, label says distilled in the Dominican Rep., bottled in Spain and distributed in the USA.
Little sharper taste of alcohol with smooth presence of almond. Ron is aged in pale oak barrel, this taste can be felt on tongue little bit. Smell of almond and sweetness is very low but recognisable.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
