Captain Morgan Spiced Rum is made by combining yeasts, molasses, water and mash, which are then distilled in a continuous still. The rum is aged for up to 1 year followed by the addition of spices and flavors indigenous to the Caribbean Islands.
Captain Morgan Spiced is owned by Diageo and produced in Puerto Rico by the famous Destilieria Serralles, Inc. The company Captain Morgan is named after the 17th-century Welsh privateer of the Caribbean, Sir Henry Morgan was an admiral in the Royal British Navy who earned a knighthood in 1674.

Sure, there are better spiced rums out there but CM put this stuff on the map. Solid choice for tight budgets. Decent balance of flavors that go with almost any drink. Not a sipper but then again, not many spiced rums are.
My affordable go to, great with Iced tea and a twist of lime!
Yeah not really for me, way too sweet but good if you are in to that.
A rum for beginning rum lovers, like the letter "A" in the alphabet.
If you want a rum with a mixer for a party, this is the stuff. Tastes decent - nothing special but extremely drinkable and one of the cheapest and most widely available on the market.
My rating is admittedly biased (everyone has that one drink they have a bad experience with, mine is this). It is what it advertises. A spiced rum, not too overpowering, not too simple, but just simple enough. It is a bit overpriced for the category, and I believe it is outperformed both in price and in performance. Bacardi Spiced is a great alternative that is cheaper while standing up to Captain, and Kraken/Sailor Jerry are other similarly priced spiced rums that I believe are better. But they dont call it a 'captain and coke' without good reason. This is a staple in America, and will continue to be for a long time I imagine.
Its not my preferred choice, but if youve never tried it, and youre looking for something new, give it a shot!
It's not exclusive, you can get it everywhere and anywhere, and it's always reliable. I like it neat, or with a coke or even Doctor Pepper...
Smooth and full of flavour..one of my favourites.
The perfect wingman for coke
