Captain Morgan Black Spiced

McDonald's would do the same. As others have said very similar to Kraken. Just a mass production take on things. Lots of vanilla and certainly a lot of sugar. Will do as a mixer and that's about it. But Hey it's alcohol so drink up.

Well obviously a try to cash in on the popularity of Kraken. Its a good mixer with a nice vanilla note.

Beautiful dark color..not as sweet as Kraken..has more spice flavor..very smooth.. hard to believe its almost 100 proof..great rum

I mean, it's pretty bad rum to begin with, but it does have some flavor which isn't totally offensive. Better than the Bacardi versions...if that means anything.

I´m not a big fan of spiced rum. I tasted the CM Black straight, but could imagine that it´s an alright rum with coke.

I tested Captain Morgan Black Spiced against Kraken with some friends and 4 out of 4 would choose Kraken! The difference is not big in Coke but straight Kraken is the best.....

Only got it for a 'Dark and Stormy' some people visiting me wanted to drink. It's alright. Better than the flagship bottle, but still not my thing. I find Kraken a little better, but both are not rums I would seek out to drink or add to my collection.

Tasted at Bull Moose on 9-15-24. Pours black. Sepia black. Overpowered aroma of vanilla. Flavor is artificial vanilla with a hint of cinnamon. Mild caramel and chocolate is more reminiscent of a candy bar than a spiced rum. Medium tingle to the palate. This is likely the best CM product I’ve had, but that’s not saying much.

Had this a couple of times, and it's very drinkable and okay for mixing. But I prefer the Kraken black spiced rum.
