This rum definitely falls under the good rum category for me, but it still has its downsides.
An aspect of this rum is both one of its perks and its biggest con and it is its sweetness.
The sweetness covers up too much of its subtle flavors for me and I can't really identify any other tastes other than the "maplely" sweetness. It also doesn't have a woody texture. When you taste this rum you'll feel the maple syrup more than the maple wood.
BUT despite that, I'll still rate this rum high since it is the only rum where I can actually appreciate the sweetness. Unlike most sweet rums that taste like sugar, this one has a delicate sweet taste to it that probably comes from the maple.
While I don't think it's worth the money, I will admit that this is a good-tasting rum, but I'd rather use it as a dessert substitute than a casual sipping rum.
