Papas Pilar Dark Finished in Rye Whiskey Barrels Solera 24-Year

Sweet, but with a burn.  The smell has a caramel hint to it, and I can pick up the rye when sipped.

Very Smooth, with Carmel hints. Great sipping rum and one of the first in my collection.

This new flagship (pun intended?) rye barrel finished dark is a very solid addition to the Papa’s Pilar portfolio. Loads and loads of fresh brown sugar coat the palate with the expected baking spices and a touch of wood on the finish. It’s not super hot as far as how rums can go(though it is 43% ABV), but it leaves a nice feeling on the palate as it blissfully washes down your throat

3 months later. I’m picking up more of an orange zest with a coffee character. Not sure if it’s the bottle sitting for a bit but it is definitely nicer
