It didn't have anything special going for it one way or the other. It wasn't as smooth as I was hoping for, no exceptional flavor.
Enjoyed the strength and unique flavor especially for the price. Enjoy this much more than their regular.
The run has a slightly syrupy character, with an interesting salted butter flavor on first taste, followed by spice and then wood, but not oak. It works well as a sipping rum. The over-proof is essential to making it light enough. It should come through in mixed drinks.
This is an overproof with a big flavor profile and lots of character. Unfortunately, this flavor profile does not suit me. Too much spice to go along with the bite. Sort of the “Fireball” of overproof rum. It has some depth but the finish after the sharp Spicy bite doesn’t work for me.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I'm not a huge fan of sweet rums. But the high proof brings a balance to this rum that regular Zaya desperately needs. It's a flavor bomb. Great on a coconut ice cube. 🧊. I usually prefer dryer Rums like Santa Teresa, but this one might be in rotation moving forward.
