La Hechicera Extra Anejo - like it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is a strong tasing rum, but the heat is not too bad. Sweet, cinnamon
First at all, it is very creamy. It is like a Flor de Cana.
The coffee flavor is not so strong. There is a good balance of the flavor of vanilla, barrel and orange peel etc.
Many say this is really not a rum but I believe it is a top notch impression of what can be done with rum. Full bodied nose without the bite that translates as a sipper. No sharp burn but a pleasant explosion of flavors that blend nicely. As a mixer is where the sweet and full body shine adding taste to any mix and a surprising sweet touch on the back of your tongue. This rum has definitely found a home in my bar.
Tried it two different times over a period of a couple of years. Not bad. Not great. Nothing really stands out about it either straight or mixed, except for a little oak. Wax ; seal on the bottle remained pretty cool botht times. Neutral + 5.5 on my scale.
Beautiful bottle, nice color. First tasting:"...the hell?". Second tasting: "Not so bad". Third try: "Oh shoot this is good. Dry but good. And what the hell is the flavour at the end ?" It was familiar but I could not decipher. As I do not drink coffee it took me a while. But yeah, then I remembered that the end is like roasted coffee beans. Lovely.
A blend of rums not exclusively from Colombia, and solera aged.
Warm, woody notes with a good level of sweetness too. Very smooth with a nice finish.
One of my favourites and a great buy around the £38-42 mark
A top favorite for sure! No additives just a fine 12-21 blend. I actually prefer this over rums triple the price
Interesting! Starts easy and soft but slowly develops into spiciness with distinctive liqourice.
Nice rich smell of caramel and toffee with orange fruity notes.
"It is zesty and spicy with more pronounced orange flavour. There is also a red grape flavour which is very pleasant."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

La Hechicera is a naturally ‘unpolished’ rum, which means it has not been rounded up with additives or sugar, its smoothness and flavour are the result of the wood it is aged in. I'm starting to lean towards slightly drier rums so this one's a winner to me.
