Smells of butterscotch, sugarcane, vanilla, and allspice. Taste is similar. It's a good rum, but pricey for what it is. I personally prefer the Ron Abuelo 12 (for example), which is less than half the price.

One of the easiest rums I’ve tried, light vanilla with sweet apricot. Slightly nutty without much wood or butter. Slight spice and short finish. Strong 8/10, lacking a few extra notes to be in the β€˜world class’ category in my mind

This has been one of our favorites! we are on bottle #3 now!! this has become a staple on our bar and will be there for as long as we can find it! Very smooth and yummy! Wonderful sipper.

Sugar: Estimated at 15 GPL. This is a really easy rum to sip if you like whiskey as it has a strong burn to it. Vanilla, charred wood, toffee, some spices and a touch of fruit like figs and a trace of orange. Well balanced rum which mellows with a drop of water. Actually you need a bit in it to cut the burn down. I would have rated it higher except for the harsh burn at the end of this.

A very special bottle of art dΓ©co style for this extraordinary rum.
A real masterpiece by the master Don Pancho Fernandez personally!
The color in the glass, a transition from amber to mahogany, a feast for the eyes.
In the nose heavy wood notes paired with tropical fruits some spices and light tobacco.
The palate is well balanced, in the beginning a very strong appearance of the taste buds, afterwards, wonderful aromas of vanilla pastry, burnt caramel, dried fruits, dark wood, dark chocolate, toffee notes ...
In the finish is a heavy sweetness which once again wood and leather revived.
A wonderful rum at the highest level, for special days.

Made me think about the Angostura's No. 1 2nd batch (purple label), but not as good. However, would like to those two side by side.

Roughly a smoother version of the little brother. The aroma has notes of caramel, oak, figs and perhaps a little orange peel. It has nice body and unfolds in the mouth, with more pronounced orangepeel, caramel, wood, dates and figs. The somewhat lengthy finish is nicely warming and tingling. It's a nice rum but given the price difference, I would choose the 8 year over this one.

Very smooth from start to finish. Pleasant flavor, although subtle.

A little on the expensive side for an 18 year old rum, but you quickly realize what you have and forget about the price. The aroma after opening the cork is waoo !!! The youngest rum in the blend has been aged for 18 years, so what you have is the real deal. Go ahead, dont hesitate and buy it

A pretty well rounded rum, but it lacks something to make it stand out. Not very memorable, which you kind of expect based on the price tag and bottle etc.
