Finally! Real Rum! Real Good Rum! My last reveiws were of Captain Morgan and that blue chair monkey piss distilled by half wit moonshiner Kenny Chesney.
This is quality. This is craftmanship. Nose of vanilla and clove with coffee lingering in the background. It opens with wood and cinnamon, treacle and cardomon. Superb. Across the pallat you get the bite. 48% ABV, easy to sip, smooth with extraordinary balance. Still developing with warm bourbon, mint and the zinfindel soaring. Complex finish with stirring red wine notes then a super long slow smoldering finish. So smooth....such a protracted, satisfying and delicious finish. One of the 10 best finishes of any rum I have tried. This is great stuff. Pricey and worth every penny. One of my top 2 Foursquare rums. That is saying alot because this fine distillery has produced a lot of great rums. Indelible INDEED!
Favorite Foursquare I’ve had so far. Minor heat / subtle barrel flavor. Can really taste everything that went into this one. Try it if possible.
Intense fruity tones, wine, canded fruit, smooth burn and rather short oakey tail.
caramel and dark chocolate on the palate, followed by a burst of red fruits and a hint of spice. The Zinfandel cask influence adds depth and complexity, making it a well-rounded and enjoyable rum. The finish is smooth with lingering notes of oak and fruit.
We were some friends teaming up at Cane Rum Society in Stockholm to celebrate Foursquare Appreciation Day.
We started up with tasting of the four different ones seen at the added photo under lead of the Swedish importer Lars Renbjer.
First out was the Touchstone which I have reviewed earlier and rated at 8,8.
Next out was the Indelible (ECS XVIII) which is a blend of 11 year old molasses rums distilled in pot- & column stills and aged on site in ex-Bourbon and ex-Zinfandel Casks.
The nose is light, would even say weak for an Foursquare. Had to warm it up a little to recognize the fruity, nutty, oaky and spicy aromas.
On the palate tastes of oak, spice and fruits is recognizable together with hints of vanilla, citrus and coconut.
The medium long finish is mostly fruity and dry with hints of vanilla and orange.
Overall a much lighter Foursquare than usual that could be a good start to explore their ECS series.

This was sent to me as part of the RumRatings tasting kit for this quarter (23Q3).
This is another ok rum from Foursquare. It's not bad, but to me, it's just too dry to be great.
Smells and tastes of bourbon, spice, and tobacco. Not noticing any zin.
A decent rum, but not great to me.
There is a level above Santa Teresa, which this reminds me of, but much more complex and deeper. Yes. Definitely deep. Complex. It is a zinfandel barrel finish according to the label. Incredible.
Nice tingle on the palette. Had a good peppery molasses profile with a lot of barrel and honey flavors. Superb.
