Wow you spend years making a rum brand put out a good quality product and then change everything to a lesser standard that all your customers can tell. Weโ€™re not sheep, we are rum aficionados that distinguish the difference. This is the last bottle of K & S I will buy. PS I loved the older rope lined necks of the bottles.

I am a Kirk & Sweeney fan. This cannot touch the 12, 18 or 23 but it is still damn good, especially for just 4 years old. Nice balance for such a youngster. Some vanilla, clove and oak but no complexity. Thin, with a short finish. I was ready to give this a 6, maybe even a 5 until my girlfreind inexplicably made Chai tea. BINGO! This stuff was made for Chai tea. I didn't really like Chai tea. Pretty trendy and androginous but with this rum in it I may make this a daily routine. Awesome! Try it! Improves the Chai tea for sure but also makes this rum a superstar mixer. Perfect match.

This appears to be the replacement for the 23 year. Itโ€™s the top of the line for Kirk & Sweeney. I loved the 23 year. This version has a very good taste. Lots of flavor, vanilla is strong. The disappointment is the burn. Much harsher than the 23 year. I probably wonโ€™t buy this again, not much difference from the the others of the new Kirk & Sweeney line.

To me this is an easy to drink rum without edges. I prefer it to Flor de Cana 18 because it isnโ€™t as woody and I prefer it to Plantation XO because it isnโ€™t as sweet.
I found a bottle of the 23 year old and will do a comparison when I open that bottle.

For the price of $51.99 USD and the fact that it's easily accessible domestically, this rum stays at the front of my cabinet.

tasting notes - black olives, anis, cinnamon, clove, caramel, peppercorn and vanilla. Warm finish, complex.

Well, I felt in love with old K&S 23yo. I was sad, when they changed brandings. I have tryed K&S GRS recently. I still love bottle design, but the content it self (rum) is not so special. According to pricing is fair, but no exceptional, no more. 7 out of 10 for price and quality ratio.

Nice oaky, sweet flavor, but more burn than I prefer.ย  Mixed goes down nicely.

Dark, sweet with vanilla tones. This or the 23 year is my preferred rum to mix with real cane sugar coke. Makes an excellent drink for the back porch in the summer, or with a savory meal.

Metallic nose alcohol forward, light taste like its watered down with medium vanilla sweetness (not too sweet) then a sudden burst of peppery burn that lingers. Note not a fan of DR rums so add +2 if you are

In line with the K&S Collection. Not as sweet as other expressions.
