SWR neboli Skeldon William Ross je legendární značka rumů vyráběných ve Skeldon Sugar Estate.
Vyrobeno bylo 178 lahví.
Aroma: Výrazně štiplavá vůně kávy, čokoláda, závan alkoholu, vlašské ořechy
Chuť: Hořká káva, spálený karamel, dřevo. Chvíli nasládlá, ale potom už jen hořkost
Dozvuk: Dřevo, stopa medu a kávové tóny. Relativně dlouhý, velmi hořký
Sladkost: 0/3
Působí jako derivát Dictadoru s vyššími volty a ještě vyšší hořkostí.
23.11.2021: Aroma: Výrazné kávové tóny, vanilka, na pozadí máslové sušenky
Chuť: Výrazně štiplavá, dřevitá, kávová
Dozvuk: Velká porce kávové a dřevité hořkosti, která velmi dlouho odeznívá.
Po druhé ochutnávce zůstává vše při starém.

SWR Skeldon. The Mark is produced on the column still. The old Skeldons were distilled in a pot still.
Smell: The dark sweetness of burnt sugar with lots of grapes and red dried fruits is noticeable first. It looks warm and saturated, of course also a bit viscous. Some red dried fruit, cranberries are also found. The rum is very intense and flowery on the nose. It smells a lot of grapes, orange zest and some tobacco. Ripe wood can also be found. Deeper in the glass are dark earthy aromas. A very nice and interwoven smell.
Taste: It starts off sweetly with burnt sugar, grapes and lots of dried fruits. It almost looks like a cognack. Slowly turns towards orange zest, becomes astringent and delivers liquorice, tannins and barrel flavors. The tannins intensify, take over the taste with bitter substances, orange zest and the wood. The finish is slightly spicy, with grapes, dried fruits, tannins and the wood.
Conclusion: A beautiful, fresh and almost flowery Skeldon. I've never had the Velier bottlings, but I can say that they are in a league of their own when it comes to complexity.
It's complex but still doesn't have enough heavy flavors to beat the 1994 REV or a Velier 1996 SVW.
