Foursquare 2005 Shibboleth 16-Year

A layered, rich, and complex rum that makes an excellent sipper.

Ve vůni cítím dubové dřevo, karamel i ovocné tóny. V chuti je cítit jeho síla, kouřovitost, nádechy ovoce, ale bohužel ho necítím tolik ani po předchozím rozlihování. Závěr je dlouhý, cítím i nasládlost, ale čekal jsem od tohoto kousku více.

Difficult to acquire, but worth all the trouble! Shibboleth is a very limited production run, but recently won several awards and it is one of the finest rums I’ve tasted. The balance between ABV (56%) and flavor is sublime. Not too oaky, surprisingly smooth and truly exceptional flavor notes.

On the nose: strong molasses and brown sugar, vanilla and some dried fruits.

Palate: spice, cherry and vanilla, followed by honey and perhaps orange peel.

Finish: long with strong burn. You can still taste it several minutes after drinking. Notes of caramel and cherries.
