This was not what I expect the royal navy to enjoy. Much like Pusser's, it definitely is a unique flavor unlike most aged rums. But it has a bite that is not enjoyable.
Blending it with other rums will mellow out the flavors and make it more enjoyable, but it makes the other rums less enjoyable.
I recommend letting it age in a decanter for a long while to mellow it out. Maybe it'll get better. I suspect it will.
Great base for complex drinks if you want the tastes to come together and still taste that rum in it. Terrible neat.
That’s the most disgusting thing I’ve tried so far, and I’m not a spring chicken, believe me I’ve never buy a bargain or make spontaneous purchases, always aim for the quality. I would highly recommend to stay away and take something else.
Fruity Demerara nose chocolate covered raisins and a tiny hint of aniseed.
"The finish is very short however and leaves a bit of a tobacco like taste in the mouth."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This is a great rum for tiki drinks and tropical rum cocktails! An old classic...but not as great as the 151...not as much of a sipper as it`s a mixing rum.
