I haven't tried much rums in my life but this one is different. Here in Brazil we don't have plenty options but this one is definetly the best one thinking of aged rum (for my budget right now).
Caramelised, banana, marmalade. Light and smooth with the hintiest of gints of oak.
On the nose I get vanilla and a kind a grapeyness - it smells similar to brandy.
The palate is pleasant, and there is an underlying creamyness along with that white oak warmth/spicyness. The alcohol burn is noticable but not harsh. Again it builds to a kind of creamyness, like tiramasu and custard on the finish. I would say that the finish is not particularly long though.
Overall it's a balanced rum though doesn't punch out in any particular direction. I haven't tried it in cocktails yet though it's perfectly pleasant to sip neat.
You can tell it's not dosed with added sugar, which I like about it. It's a good rum though I think I prefer the Don Q 7 which is a very similar spirit. The Angostura is darker in colour but also suprising light in profile.
Straight one. Quite sweet. But it's very balanced between alcohol and flavour.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Very nicely balanced, fruity with notes of leather. Kind of halfway between a Jamaican and a Cuban Havana Club rum. Really nice. This makes me want to explore more rums from Trinidad. Not a sipper, definitely has some bite, but great flavor profile and really nice mixer.
