Puerto Rico | Aged | 40% ABV
Ron del Barrilito 3 Star rum is produced in Bayamón Puerto Rico by the Fernández family, which has been producing rum in the area since 1804, making it the oldest rum manufacturer in Puerto Rico. The rum is first blended and then aged for a minimum of 6 years.
A single barrel of Ron del Barrilito rum was set aside in 1942 called the 'Freedom Barrel.' When Puerto Rico gains its independence the Freedom Barrel will be opened in the Bayamón town square for all to share.

Not very sweet at all. Woody and smooth. Excellent to sip.
A lot of sweetness, caramel, butterscotch, very smooth
My favorite sipping rum at a price that can’t be beat. Rich, complex, smoky molasses taste. I just love it.
I enjoyed this rum with a plate of authentic pork and thought it paired well. Not an extra aged or double maturation just good smooth rum somewhat reminiscent of dryer Cuban rum. Will not go running looking for it by enjoyed it in the moment.
Came in a nice box finally found in my area enjoyed sipping and also in a cocktail
Absolutely great to mix. But most of all a great sipper.
Florals and some vanilla. I remember loving this when I first tried it like 10 years ago. A little citrus. Maybe some light tobacco. Red amber pour.
Tons of oak and fruit flavor up front followed by a very nice sweet mellow that keeps on. I feel like this is an understated rum that definitely needs to be tried.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Not at all bad, I think it's worth the price (paid $34 USD).
On the nose, both bitter and sweet notes, a hint of vanilla and wood, some alcohol.
On the palate, fairly dry, some caramel and raisin, more wood and spice, a solvent-ish flavor in the background, but not alcohol-like. There is some light burn, the bitter note is there, especially in the finish along with hints of molasses.
Pleasant enough, decent for sipping, I might try mixing it. I don't know that I'll replace the bottle once it is done.
