Rhum J. Bally (Simon Distillery)
Rhum Vieux Agricole X.O.
XO
43%
Origin: Martinique, Habitation Lajus in Le Carbet
Color: Amber
Nose:
Intensive, sweet and smoky at first nosing. Followed by aromas, which remind me of sherry cask whisky with a whiff of sulfur.
Smells like plum butter with cacao.
Palate:
Very spicy with plenty of Indian masala, some black pepper and curry.
Besides tannins there are notes of oloroso sherry, cacao and toffee.
Finish:
Long, dry and spicy on notes of toffee.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

A very pleasant and crisp rum from Martinique. J Bally I hold for one of the top three estiller of Martinique. This selected aged rum has a very pleasant ose and palet.
It represents the crisp dry and none molasses rum that I appreciate with Martiniquan rum.
For you who doesent like your rum too sweet from molasses this is a great choice. (as well as rum from St.Lucia, Jamaica and Barbados)
