Sammys Beach Bar Kola Nut

Stumbled into a store doing a bunch of samples and this was one of them. Smell is vanilla forward, taste is spice and coffee forward. Taste was a bit umami probably from the Kola nut (what ever that is) and had a hazelnut vibe to it. Here is the cool part. I had the first sample neat then had with coke and the coke turned the sample into cherry coke. Totally off the chart taste experience. Not a harsh finish and can easily sip. 35% ABV from Sammy Haggar and Rick Springfield. Cheers.

I wanted to like this rum so much but everything about it is horrific. Aroma is the high point being the least offensive part of the tasting experience. Initial taste is sharp and unfriendly, lingering becoming worse, and the finish is less than smooth. Would never recommend

Goes great in a cuba libre. Cola flavor with a hint of vanilla and coffee.
