This is a fairly decent coconut rum, though I find it a bit weak at only 30%abv.
Has a nice natural coconut flavor. It's good, but I prefer the Koloa and Captain Morgan 90 proof coconut rums, as those are stronger, and they taste better that way to me.
Got my hands on a bottle at Total Wine. Company says itโs a 2 year old rum infused with coconut. Perfect coconut aroma on the nose. Taste is very smooth, not too sweet. Just right for a flavored rum. If Malibu is super sweet, syrupy, this is much more refined, elegant, yet still super fun and delicious!
Really delicious coconut rum for upgraded piรฑa coladas or coco libres!
Smells dreadfully artificial. However, it does not taste synthetic. In fact it is very much like coconut milk. Very, very thin and bursting with actual coconut flavor. This isn't a mounds bar in a bottle. Not sweet like that poison Blue Chair Bay bottles. CThis gives you cconut flavor and authentic mouth feel. Very interesting. This would make a KILLER pina colada. Not complex. Not a sipper. Certainly not a 10. But as good a coconut rum as I have ever tried. I have tasted 3 of the 4 SelvaRey rums. They are on to something. Each is high quality. This is no exception. It doesn't pretend to be more than it is. For a coconut rum it is simply outstanding. Blows away the Hawaiin coconut rums. Better than Plantation coconut offerings. Malibu and Parrot Bay is pure swill compared to this. Well done SelvaRey!
Not very sweet, but the coconut flavor is definite. I would almost describe the flavor as "dry" when compared to other sweeter coconut rums. Nice sipped on the rocks, and I don't usually sip rums. Even nice in a classic Daiquiri. Not very high in alcohol.
Coconut at its finest! No artificial flavor, just perfect coconut!
Nothing like it.
Smooth and sophisticated - vacation in a glass!
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I finally was able to get a hold of one of these bottles because I just love me some coconut rums. There is nothing like them to exude the feel of the tropics. However, I never rate them up there with my regular sipping rums and my highest rating of 6 is all that I can give to any of them. Because of the aroma on this one being a lot like Banana Laffy Taffy, it can only garner my fourth place. A low ABV of 30% did not help. It is not sugary sweet like many of the 20% ABV coconut rums, but is certainly no match for my all time favorite of Brinley Gold Shipwreck Coconut at 36% ABV..
This company started out great with their white rum and a good price. Since changing to all those fancy bottles, the prices have gone up to justify that cost. This banana rum labeled as a coconut rum has caused me to lose respect for this company. I have also removed their Owner's Reserve from my wish list here. So this flavored rum has saved me a large hunk of change in not buying that one and also an 800 mile round trip to go get it.
