It’s too bad they can’t do more expressions like this. Initially it reminded me of Selección de Maestros, which was surprising. I eventually did a side by side and they were fairly similar in my opinion. The Maestros had more funky wood on the nose, where the Exquisito was more caramel, yet on the palate Maestros had more caramel and Exquisito had brown cigar and citrus. Both were accompanied by a balance of oak on the palate and a fairly subtle sweetness, with the Exquisito having a smoother finish(probably because Maestros is 45%). I have to admit I did not pay regular full price($150) for the bottle and got it on close out for ($80). I might have to go back for another bottle
Nice taste and smoothnesss. Great on the rocks or straight up.
when you are part of this Bacardi Brand you need to live up to the name.....and it did! Sweeter than expected. great nose, lots happening, smooth taste, nice warmth - just a really great experience. However not worth the price.
Great sipping aged rum, enjoyed it very much with my Montecristo Epic 12 cigar.
A nose of dried fruit, dried pineapple, banana, walnut, treacle, vanilla and oak. Smooth and not too sweet. A slightly spicy palate with Roger and a hint of pepper.
Výborný spíše sladší rum španělského typu.Vůně se nese hlavně na tónech čokolády, vanilky a koření.Chuť- čokoláda,sušené ovoce - meruňky,lehce červěné ovoce, nádech skořice a mírná hořkost dřeva.
40% ABV premium brand from Bacardi from the Bahamas. It is a blend of rums aged between 7 and 23 years, finally matured for several months in sherry casks.
Bottle: Very specific shape with a wide neck.
Colour: Cherry wood
Aroma: Classic Spanish style aroma with traces of sherry. Vanilla, caramel, cherry, fruit marmalade, walnut, sherry and oak. Nothing specific.
Taste: Very smooth and pleasantly sweet. Again, unfortunately, nothing special. Again, I detected vanilla, apricots, walnuts and oak in the taste, which is just a hint. The sherry is not as pronounced as in the aroma.
Aftertaste: Medium-long.
Conclusion: The greatest asset of this rum is its smoothness. However, it does not stand out in taste or aroma from other Spanish-style rums aged in sherry casks. For a premium rum, I find it quite disappointing and the price per bottle quite inadequate.
Rating: 8/10
The black barrel definitely adds a layer of smoke / wood flavor and reduces the harsh alcoholic taste that young rums have, good for a dirty mojito or compliment to piña colada.
A fairly sweet and quite woody spirit.
"Has touches of white grape and some chewy toffee but its mostly just a slightly sugary spirit with a decent hit of oak spice thrown in. The finish is fairly long."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

After trying most of the high priced rums, this one is The Favorite. Well balanced, easy to drink, not too sweet, not too dry, not too strong, just right. Has all the tastes and qualities that you look for in a rum. In my opinion, there is no need to look for the perfect rum anymore.
This is a rum that you do not want to use in a mixed drink. Why spoil a work of art.
A must in a collection. However, it will not last since it will be the one that you will drink. Better buy more than 1 bottle. Not too expensive at $90.
