Ron Roble Viejo Maestro
Score: 6,5
Neither my Venezuelan wife nor her brother had heard of this rum, but they aren't really big drinkers either. Tasty enough for a base level rum, but you can probably find more bang for your buck at 30 bones. Some vanilla, and I do get the coffee like label says. Dark copper pour. Some metallic astringency.
Great rounded color, bold vanilla, toffee, oak, leather and coffee flavor great for cocktails where you want to taste the tru rum flavor among the other ingredients.
Nose 3/5
Taste 3/5
woody and the nuts or vanilla you can find, not sure

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

On the nose I can feel pleasant combination of nuts, caramel, butter and vanilla, on the palate the nuts, caramel and butter are accompanied by a touch of vood and leather, all quite mild, the aftertaste is slightly spicy, with a mild sweet caramel and butter, rather short. Overall the rum is young by taste, definitely not unique, but likable. Reminds me of Santa Teresa Gran Anejo - it is a bit better than Santa Teresa, but it is also way more expensive. My review is based on 50ml sample.
