Saint Lucia | Aged | 40% ABV
Admiral Rodney Extra Old rum is produced in St. Lucia using a continuous still, and then aged in American oak casks for an average of 12 years.
The rum is named after British Naval Officer Admiral George Rodney, who in 1782 as the Governor of St. Lucia rebuffed the Spanish fleet in the "Battle of the Saints".

Lower mostly because I expected more. Love their spiced, really wanted to love their others, especially the more premium ones.
Excelent rum, very rich. Hints of Cacao and coocked banana. Good balance withe the wood. Finish is not very long though.
A beautiful representation of at Lucia column still and the capacity of flavours it can produce. 12 year old rum that's deep in oak
On the nose: Very sweet! Very strong aromas of maple syrup and vanilla. I don't think I've ever smelled a rum with quite so much maple syrup character.
In the mouth: Taste to match: very sweet. And not overly smooth. I'd compare this rum to Papa's Pilar Dark (which I'm also no fan of) and Zacapa 23, though I find even Zacapa to be more interesting than the Admiral.
If sweet's your thing, go for it. But for me, it's a bit of a let-down.
Fin styrke og stadig sød. Fik af en billigere rom.
I've been drinking rum for over 30 years and can honestly rate the old admiral the best. Not too sweet and nicely rounded bourbon barrel finish. Finding it in the U.S.,well, you would have a better chance meeting Santa Clause. Definitely worth the shipping price from the U.K.
I thought it had a little to strong alcohol taste. But ill give it a few more chanses. Love the bottle.
Dark gold colored rum, with a sweet smooth scent - something of wood and raisins. A little bit harder in the afterburn, but a good one.
Sold in a very attractive bottle that resembles a decanter with a big wooden cork top. Nose is sweet, caramel and vanilla. Very smooth and mellow, slightly sweet with a dark chocolate finish. A fantastic sopping rum - will be buying another bottle when done enjoying this one.

Notes of banana and a little tropical fruit.
"There is an alcohol burn. Banana and a little black grape, hints of vanilla contribute to the overall smoothness of the rum. ."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
