Cana Boa Light Cachaca

Purchased at Total Wine. Tasted on 9-8-24. Clear. Doughy aroma is mild, but a distinct smokiness is there. Flavor is one of the mildest cachaca that I’ve ever had. Incredibly smooth finish. People who don’t like the strong taste of cachaca would like this.

Appearance: clear
Aroma: sweet, grass
Flavor: smoky, tangy.
Notes: tastes flammable, with a brown sugar flourish at the end; this is a bit more bitter than I expected

Enjoyable neat, not too hot with ethanol and just the right sweet brown sugar finish.

I gave this cachaca a try today for only $18 US. It is certainly no match against the better cachacas from Avua (at more than twice the price for those), but it is also much better than anything that I have tried from Novo Fogo or the industrial cachacas. The aroma and taste will not offend experienced cachaca fans. I would guess that it would not offend even the newest fans to this Brazilian rum. I sipped my first sip of this one neat and I am sure that it would make damn good caipirinhas.
