Santos Dumont XO Palmira

A typical Santos Dumont, sweet, strong, labeled as XO but in fact elixir-grade GPL; affordable (and quite often in discount around my area... not that I'd give a damn anymore). Strong and distinctive nose and taste of overriped fruits and one of the Czech sweet cakes I remember from I was growing up. It's made of chocolate, cocoa, vanilla and sugar which applies on this rum as well. (I don't like the smell of it.)
I was directly comparing this rum with Santos Dumond XO and I was very surprised I like XO more now, probably as less sweet and more flavors. (I'd re-buy neither of them nowadays, just keep consuming already-purchased and 'vitrinized' bottles.)
Though Palmira is overall less fruity and more vanilla-sweet, I find both rums boring, overly sweet and not very tasty any more.
I re-rated them equally 5/10 now as XO is a tad better but price to quality ratio speaks favours Palmira.

7,5:On the nose, very special and unique, immediately a refined sweetness. Clear aromas from the barrel storage, fine spice, woody note, relatively fruity with apricot, peach, lime & lemon, hints of marshmallow & honey, hazelnut, a hint of spiciness with ginger.
7,4:On the palate, a sweet sugar cane, oak is noticed, a note of sweet wine comes through, very full-bodied & aromatic, fruity with apricot, peach and light grapes, fresh aromas with hints of lime & coconut, nuttiness, raisins, sweet hints of light caramel & marshmallows, light acidity, fine but distinctive spice with some peppery note.
6,8:The finish is quite short with strong sugary touch.

En söt och nötig rom. Inte så spritig. Lättdrucken.

Finom édes mogyorós,enyhén fűszeres,karamellás íz!

Yeah, just taste like sweet and sour strawberry jelly 🤤 sweet but tough 🫠

acesta are si un ton intunecat, nu mai e cel vioi cu care m a obisnuit riise, poate e ceva cacao acolo, dar nu mi pot da seama din cauza dulcetii, in rest clasic riise

this also has a dark tone, it's no longer the lively one Riise used me to, maybe there's some cocoa there, but I can't tell because of the sweetness, otherwise classic Riise

I like that it doesn't have any afterburn and since I prefer sweeter rums, this is one of the best I tried.

Som si spomenul a vyhrabal som to po dvoch rokoch z krabice v pivnici. Nie som zástanca sladkých rumov, ale...
Sladký, veľmi chutný, sladkosť sušeného ovocia, med, najprv trošku orieškov, potom až hádam kokos? Veľmi príjemné ako maškrta.

Really good taste and sweetnes, maybe too much but after dinner is like desert, 7/10
