Average taste with nice color, little bit disappointment from this i had bugger expectation. 6/10
There's a lot going on here, as you might expect from a rum blended from opposite sides of the world. Fruit, vanilla, caramel, hint of dry spice, and of the cognac barrel really comes through
Nose: Ripe plums meet apples fallen from the tree. In addition, a fresh scent of mown grass.
In the mouth develops an explosion of flavors.
Dominant are ripe wild berries that meet soft raisins. The kind of raisins you pick out of a cake.
On the finish, an abundance of never-ending fruitiness of blueberries and those little wild strawberries. This rum offers a perfect melange of Mauritius and Barbados.
The 43% is perfect for this rum.
It was unfortunately only a sample, but the big bottle is at the top of my list
This is really excellent. Lovely fruit. Some citrus and a spicy apple peel flavor. Has a terrific linger and tingle which makes it feel like a higher proof. The nose is pretty simple for me, just straight roasted caramel and some light barrel. On the tongue is similar. It's not some 23 layer hard to explain rum. Tastes like experts wanted to blend a good rum. I don't get any over arching distinct fruit, and no one thing jumps out but the overall impression is one of very very light citrus and a little clove. This is a very fine rum.
Nice and light aromas on the nose. Dry and lightly sweet on the tongue. Smooth finish with minimal burn. Definitely a nice sipper thatโs full of flavor and easy to drink.
Picked at total wine in cherry hill NJ. I am a fan our Foursquare distillery. and this rum has a kind of unique heritage being from Mauritius and Barbados. Alcohol content is at 43% and I could feel the little extra burn in the taste. It is pretty dry and balanced considering the 43% alcohol but for close to 50$ I will not buy again. Ii much prefer plantation XO or el pasador Debora oro reserve in this price range. As a matter of fact the real McCoy 5 year is much better for 20$ less.
Sugar estimated at 5 GPL. This is another fairly dry Mauritian rum that has been enhanced by the use of cognac and bourbon barrels. Overall it's still got that vegetal flavour that I find with the Mauritian rums, but it's better than any other rum from Mauritius that I have tasted. This is a bit overproof and that shows through in the taste and burn. It's spicy and has a taste of sweetness and would be best served over ice. Straight up I found it to have a whiskey taste but the cognac is also present. Bit of caramel and a fair amount of oak. It's not a bad rum and is a
Solid 7, but for $87 CDN, it's overpriced.
Blend of Mauritius and Barbados rums, fruity, hints of spiciness, bold, smooth, well balanced, not overly sweet, overall a very nice sipping rum
Vanilla, light toffee and some gently oak. .
"A really nice balance between the sweet citrus notes and the spicy oak notes."

Nose - Dry. Wine, spice. Simple.
Taste - Dry rum, but sweetness can be tasted too. Very good. Foursquare roots are felt, but this blend is little weak in flavor field for me. Finish is spicy.
