For the price it's a nice drop
Would prefer over many over priced rums
A good aged Australian rum, perfect for sipping. Mellow, at 40%, a bit sweet and with notes of walnut, not dissimilar to an El Dorado 12y. Sweetness and dark caramel colour hint at some addition. It's been aged in American white oak barrels for 10 years, which gives it colour and taste
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

After giving the rum 5 mins in the glass a buttery softness with a crème brûlée influence develops on the palate as well. It’s a reasonably intense rum and definitely feels more than 40% ABV. There’s a flavour of slightly burnt spices aftertaste.
The finish is long and intense with an initially sweetness with caramelised sugar, molasses, spices and a nuttiness, then developing into dark chocolate which lingers
