For All the gimmicky limited editions and well overpriced rums with little age or pedigree they have finally managed to make one good rum. I was very sceptical when finding out about the world drink awards they had won and purchased a 3 pack of their award winners directly. Containing one mdc, one small batch and the solera.
The first 2 would taste fine drowned in cola like every rum they have made to date but then there is the solera. I have multiple rums at twice the price that are nowhere near as good as this. At under 200 aud a bottle this is one to stock up on. A very UN Bundy kind of rum. A smooth sipper, expertly blended no doubt, sweet molasses, vanilla and Christmas pudding. Totally unexpected. A real credit to who ever blended this.
It's about as good as it gets. Around the same price as zacapa xo but this has the edge as far as 170 dollar soleras go. If I blind tasted this I would expect a much higher price.
Rich, bold, delicious. One of the finest rums that I've had the pleasure of sipping.
Notes of vanilla and butterscotch.
Normally I can't stand Bundaberg rums, but they have really knocked it out the ballpark with this one. Apparently I'm not the only one that thinks this as its recently won Best Dark Rum in the World at the 2017 World Drinks Awards in London
I was really sceptical to try it as I hate Bundaberg rhums. But this is one of their top gun. And overall I was happily surprised with the taste and loved the look of the bottle. Pretty descent drop my only 2 issues: It was a little to soft on the nose and really overpriced .
Nose: 6/10
Taste: 8/10
Value: 5/10
Packaging:9/10
Donβt really like basic Bundaberg rums and apparently half the world doesnβt either but this surprised me . Nice sipping rum.
Caramel. Sherry. Nice and little sweet. Port. Drink it pure.
Bundaberg is not my favorite because it is to strong and without Harmony but this one is a Highlight...
After tasting Bundaberg Solera, I am now a ruined rum drinker, everything else I have ever tasted in the rum universe is now inferior.
One if the best Bundys I have had.
It's not amazing and the flavour is hard to distinguish but you can sip it with ice and enjoy.
I get the caramel notes but that's all I can get.
The down side is the price, very expensive and when u can get an Appletons 21 year cheaper it makes it hard justify this.
I would not buy again.
Proof that Bundy can make rum. Smooth taste and no burn at all. Slight taste of butterscotch and vanilla. One of the best rums Iβve ever tasted
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Perfect caramel color, vanilla and berry notes, smooooth and nothing like what I expected from βBundyβ
