Bacardi Superior Rum is the original Bacardi rum, dating back to 1862 when Don Facundo Bacardi Massó purchased his first rum distillery in Cuba. 150 years later, Bacardi Superior is now manufactured in Puerto Rico, but the recipe remains largely the same.
A unique strain of yeast discovered in the Cuban sugarcane fields is used to produce Bacardi Superior rum. The rum is filtered through charcoal, a process pioneered by Bacardi, before and after it is aged in oak barrels for at least one year.

You might wanna use it for Mojitos. But don't, there are several better alternatives.
It's a shame this is so widely available as there are better white rums out there.
Every rum drinkers nightmare: ordering a rum and getting Bacardi.
Very unpleasant neat, adds nothing but mild off notes to cocktails. No point in buying when Cruzan Aged Light, Flor de Caña Extra Seco, and Don Q Cristal exist.
Look, I get that Bacardi Superior is the "basic bitch" of the rum world and as a result is looked down upon by rum aficionados, but I feel like all the people giving it super low ratings are kind of missing the point. This is a smooth, inoffensive rum meant for mixing, a job which it does quite admirably. If you're looking for something with bold flavors and a lot of character, look elsewhere, but if you're throwing a party and looking to make blender daiquiris, mojitos, and rum & cokes, well, it sure as hell beats Barton's.
I like it in a rom and Coke. One of my go to for that drink
It's a cheap rum, what else were you expecting. Easy to take shots or pulls of and goes well in a coke, and if you're buying it, you know that that's what it's for.
and that was about 45ml too much. Because it did not take more than that to conclude what I expected all along, that this rum is just all around bad. From the aroma to the taste to the aftertaste. Oh, I finished the entire trial size 50ml bottle to try and be as fair as I can and it was not easy, as I will not review a rum unless I drink neat. How Bacardi seems to sell so much rum is a mystery to me.
Obviously not a sipper. It is what it is. My daughter visited the Bacardi grave site in Cuba - lol.
Seriously, though, what else should you mix with Coke?
Underage? Have a friend who will buy you booze? Give them $30 and they return with a $10 bottle? Here it is. The vodka of rums.
"I often think of Bacardi Superior as “sweet vodka...”
"Bacardi Superior rum review by The Fat Rum Pirate"
It is a white spirit that has a sweet fruity taste.
"It is a very sweet -apple, banana and a little sweet pear are all in the profile."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I mean I don't expect much from a cheap mass-produced rum but come on Bacardi, you have to cut the heads and tails off somewhere. The nail-polish remover smell make it hard to even down this one, fortunately the (lack of) taste is not as bad as the smell would make you think.
