United States | Light | 40% ABV

Bacardi Superior Rum is the original Bacardi rum, dating back to 1862 when Don Facundo Bacardi Massó purchased his first rum distillery in Cuba. 150 years later, Bacardi Superior is now manufactured in Puerto Rico, but the recipe remains largely the same.

A unique strain of yeast discovered in the Cuban sugarcane fields is used to produce Bacardi Superior rum. The rum is filtered through charcoal, a process pioneered by Bacardi, before and after it is aged in oak barrels for at least one year.

Ok maybe 40+ years ago at the frat house or 45 years ago in artillery punch. I guess this is a go too rum for Mojitos with so much sugar mint and lime you can’t taste it, but not my rum

Avoid like the plague, it's vile, you can buy better light rums such as doorlys, havana club 3,el dorado, plantation, Morgan white, all these putt his to shame

Won't recommend, even for cocktails.
Go for Havana club instead

If you have nothing else to buy or to drink, it can work. Not sure where they make it for you region though) haha
But it's a big brand, so at least you won't see off-flavours or faulty bottles

I bought a bottle of this, and ended up using almost all of it for hello shots. It was the only conceivable use I could find for such an atrocity.

By itself, Bacardi Superior lacks complexity and isn't exactly smooth with an unrefined flavor which I can't describe beyond "sweet" because it just isn't distinctive. Sipping this rum is like using a screwdriver to drive a nail into a wall-it's difficult and the result is ugly. Don't do it. As with most light rums, this thing is intended for mixing, and it performs that role adequately. Imparts rum notes on the cocktail without overpowering the other ingredients while the mixers disguise its harshness. While there are better light rums out there, it's relatively cheap and readily available.

1/10 as a sipper, 7/10 as a mixer, with 2x weight for mixing (due to being a light rum) yields a score of 5/10 overall.

The absolute worst white rum there is. No brand is superior to this swill. They must add Ethanol cause it's cheap and nasty and I get a splitting headache after a session. It just proves if you spend truckloads of cash on marketing, you can sell piss in a bottle and people will buy it. Avoid like Covid 19!

Burns a lot, has little to no flavor. Good for shots if you are trying to get drunk or in a fruity mixed drink.

This is for mixing only. Especially when you want to have a terrible mixed drink.

This is a good rum for mixing only. By itself, this will give you the "shudder" that comes with a shot of bad alcohol, and small sips of this will do that. If you like the aftertaste of rubbing alcohol, drink this by itself. If you want a cheap buzz for the evening, mix this with some of your favorite cola, and have fun.
