Anyone open their Appleton Legend yet?
I was lucky enough to get a bottle and I have to say that it's absolutely amazing. I've never had the Wray & Nephew 17 year but I understand it's the same recipe. It's funky, fruity, dry, with a touch of wood with none of the notes overpowering the other. It's truly exceptional!
Can you compare it to the Appleton 30 year? I brought two bottle back from Anguilla. Joy has just sold out.
I haven't been able to find or taste the 30 year but I have the 21 year. I find the 17 year Legend to have much more depth and complexity than the 21 year with a little less wood also.
How is the 30 year?
the 30 is a treat. oak forward, but smoother and silky. tons of flavor without being so hot. I have the other bottle up for sale. I just can't drink them both.
