What are you drinking for Black Tot day today the 53rd anniversary??
So July 31st is Black Tot day 1970 last British navy rations of rum, 53 years ago. I decided to start with a painkiller, made with Pussers gunpowder proof, now I'm moving on to some tastings from my current collection. Almost everything except the original 15 year that had some Caroni Trinidad rum in it. I did however secure a bottle of original blue label with the Trinidad rum in the mix. Pusser is running a special in the US buy 2 bottles gunpowder online and they will sell you an old version of the blue label. Let the good times roll, not opening my pre 1970 flagon until my retirement party whenever I decide, but makes for a good photo op.
I had a Sample of an old bottling "Alfred Lamb's 100 Navy Rum HMS Warrior ". I am on vacation... So i could not choose from the hole Navy range.
... and here is what i learned on the German Rum Festival:
“There are tall ships…and small ships…ships that sails the sea… but the best ships are friendships…may they aaaalwaaaays beeee”
So happy Black Tot Day 😁
