rum auctioneer
What's people experience with biding for rums on auctioneer they only charge 12gpd for one bottle or 14, for 2 just curious if people have bid on rums and got hold off one
Hi Les,
I've been bidding and have won auctions several times and it works great.
For us living in the EU it's important to just bid on the ones being delivered from inside the EU otherwise it will be much more expensive depending on the customs.
So I suppose, without knowing, that you that's living in the UK just should bid on bottles delivered from the UK.
ok thanks
That's the danger, you don't know if you'll end up winning multiple bottles. I generally bid on several bottles and usually won 2 to 4. I wouldn't bid on cheap bottles there or you'll end up paying more for fees and shipping.
yes am going try it out but I agree might as well be at least a few bottles
I've been watching auctions for past 3 months- one thing I still haven't got my head around is that the auction is meant to finish at 7pm or 2 minutes after the last bid but I bid on a bottle and no one outbid me but it still didn't end until 10pm. The bottle I won cost £86 but with all the added costs it went up to £110 (they add VAT on 3 different things which they don't make clear on their website) but I couldn't find the bottle on any other websites and it was too late to pull out of buying.
It ends 2 minutes after the last bid on any bottle. You have to wait until all prices are at their maximum.
I multiply each bottle with 1.4, then I know approx. the final costs. It's cheaper for you I think, because you are from GB.
