Is Myers's Legend Rum worth buying?

Hello all. Found a small liquor store in my area that has a bottle of Myer's Legend 10 Year on sale for $42. I'm not a fan of the standard Myers's Dark so I would only purchase this for collection purposes (1 receiver said it might be hard to find). Couldn't find much about it being limited online. Thoughts?

Thanks Jimbo. I shall crack it open before long. Andy, most definitely. I have been on the lam for a couple a months but am back in the area. Let me know if you will still be visiting the South Florida area soon.

If you find a Myers's (correct) Legend, buy it! Especially in the $40's. A great rum, by a great Jamaican company. But - to collect it? Hey, it's not Picasso, and you'll never make any money with it. Nope - it's a special occasion rum - treat yourself on holidays, but please - drink it...

@RedBlaze6 I'll likely be in Miami in the next 2-3 months for work (London based), we should definitely hit up a rum bar when I'm in town :)

Beukeboom, just read your Abuelo Centuria review. Couldn't agree with you more. I not only purchased 1, but 2 of them. Sampled it shortly after at the Miami RumFest and was quite disappointed. A smoother version of their 12 year but definitely not worth the $125. What bullshit with the limited quantities statement. They sure got me.

I ran across a Myer's Legend 10 in a small south Georgia store. Only bottle they had and it was under $40 USD. I have sampled some of mine and it is quite good.

No it didn't. My goslings old rum came in an interesting rustic wooden box with a sliding clear cover.

Thanks, Scott. I went back and grabbed it before I left the area. Looks like it was sitting on that shelf for some time and was forgotten. Will be on the small list of Do Not Opens. Scott, did yours happen to come in a box?

From a collectability standpoint definitely go for that it's a no brainer. I think I paid $45 for mine about 3 or 4 years ago and haven't seen it anywhere since.
