new diplomatico seleccion de familia
diplomatico seleccion de familia, is their new rum, probably they want to sell it under
rum name in EU because the green bottle (reserva exclusiva) have more than 20 g/l
so it can t be called rum in the EU,
well the new one also is 10-12 years aged and i find alko tested it, it have 18 g/l of
sugar added, so cca half than the old green bottle, i see it also being high rated on this site
https://www.alko.fi/en/products/905561/Diplom-tico-Selecci-n-de-Familia/
posted this just as an info ... not interested in their stuff, but it s
funny how they do a new bottling just to meet the new EU standards, they
want to keep their market share ...
Could this also be the reason for the dissapearance of the RESERVA and ANEJO bottling and appearance of the milder MANTUANO instead?
here dip.res excl. is always available, plus mantuano and all their old line, will wait some time and see
how things evolve, except for D.R.E (it goes, people still loving it) i don t have their other rums
in my bar, you can find so many brands around that i m really not interested for their products ...
I just tried Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva for the first time and was surprised that it was much less sweet than I expected, and much less sweet than the Seleccion de Familia I had before.
Reading this, I wonder if it's a new blend with much less sugar than before?
yes it is a blend with less sugar, the green bottle with almost 40g of sugar per liter probably will be no more available in EU (20 grams is the limit so all who want to mantain their market share here, have to lower the sugar added), how much you paid the bottle ? like the reserva exclusiva ?
I love the Family reserve (selection de familia) found only at Total Wine in my area, and it's packaged at 70 versus 75 typical US standard. Also slightly over proof I think 42% versus. 40%. It's a great improvement more depth and a very solid rum.
