Hello fellow rum drinkers! For quite some time now, I have enjoyed rum in cocktails, neat, with coke... I have tasted the traditional go-to basic rums such as Zacapa, Diplomatico, Appleton and so on (didn't rate most of them as I only had those a few times), but I enjoy Agricole rum the best. Anyway... there is plenty of good agricoles out there, and having tasted good amount of them directly at Martinique, I have found Saint James rum the most enjoyable. Love the taste, love the aroma, I know it is quite raw but I actually appreciate it... Am I just crazed? And what would your recommend next after Saint James Millesime, which I found extremely good?

Try the Rhum JM rums, like the vsop or XO are excellent ones to start tasting this distillery!

HSE rhum is definitely a good choice for a special occasion, a Clement Cuvee special XO too. A Clement Cuvee special XO bottle is not hard to find near me, but is it worth the high price ? Had the Rhum J.M XO last time in the glass, very nice, very fresh and fruity, somehow old fashioned, in a positive way, old traditional. The Riviere du Mat Vieux Cuvee Speciale is also very delicious, one of the driest Agricole I ever had and for sure specially for Agricole lovers.

This particular bottle isn't available in my proximity but I picked up the dark version of HSE rhum. Seems very nice to me but I do not think I will open it anytime soon. Too many bottles to choose from.

Just bought a Clement Cuvee special XO. That is one of the best rhum I have tried. I recommend it if you can find a bottle!

Had the HSE Saint Etienne VO in the glass at the weekend. A really successful Agricole with recommendation to taste. See rating.

So, Clement Single Cask is definitely a very good choice, tried the green one, very delicious. There are 12 different types of sugar cane. In Guadeloupe, they plant black cane for the Bologne rhum, This cane is very aromatic but difficult to cultivate. Visit the Bologne site for more information. Soon I try the HSE Saint Etienne VO

I do not recall tasting St. Lucia and it seems quite hard to obtain in my area (in terms of availability). Clement rhum is a good suggestion, I think I tasted some back then and I am definitely going to go for a bottle or two. Haven't ever heard of black cane rhum, what is the difference besides the obvious one that the cane is black? Also, did anyone try HSE rhum vieux? Does anyone preffer this kind of rhum?

Hi, I just ordered a Clement Single Cask, I also start to enjoy more and more Agricole. The most amazing is I like many white Agricole much more than so other "premium" type of rum

Hi Kaemon I like the rhum Agricole specially in the summertime, which are so light and fruity. Try to get Bologne rhum, these are my favourite Agricole at the moment, made from black cane. Have you tried the 1931's from St. Lucia, very Special but not my case. The clement rhum are also very nice. Try some and find it out !
