Bought this one in France, while driving down to Spain.
It has replaced the “Reserve du Comte Arthur Dillon” which is still to be found, in after what I have understood, in two different ageings, 4yo and 8yo.
This VSOP is aged for at least 4 years and the price was just 20€ at the supermarket.
The nose is a little sharp, but not as sharp as the 3yo “Carte Noire”. The taste in mouth and during the medium long afterburn it’s quite smooth.
You can recognize vanilla, prunes, chocolate, dried fruit and some cinnamon.

For your notice:
Most of the reviews under this image is over the “Réserve du Comte Arthur Dillon, 4yo”, but this VSOP is maybe the same Rhum in a new bottle.
You can't get wrong with it. Very polyvalent rum, not ridiculous at all. A bit of complexity, very good value for the money. Not smooth, but not too agressive.
A hint of chocolate, woody, grassy, amber colored.
I recommend for people who loves nice cocktails and could be sipped at anytime.
A very tasty aged agricole, personnally enjoy it neat.
Didn't like it, maybe not my drink. I don't understand what the point is.
let it sit because it have strong alcoholic burn at the nose, aromas are a little bit of oak, maybe some grass, a lot of wine. In the mouth again this winey flavor is the most predominant over some grass and flowers (it reminds me to savanna le must, that is not an agricole), abv 43% is ok, naturally sweetness (many sweet teeth will say it s whisky dry,,,), a solid agricole with a good price too ! I do love agricole rums and usually (but not always) i rate them high ...
Belle robe acajou clair.
Light pleasant aroma, a bouquet of summer flowers, honey, yeast, raisins, wood, alcohol, plastic. On the palate: plastic, bitterness, oak, burning, imaginary sweetness. Not fleeting, I remember. A bit heavy. Relaxation comes quickly and your mood improves after 10 minutes. Drink in small sips. Good mood, confidence and a sense of achievement.
This is a first agricole I ever tried. The impression is mixed, the nose I like the most, lemongrass, straw, lime, mint candy, the taste profile is relatively smooth for a 4y, but has a strong grassy-minty overtone which kills all other taste components, the finish is spicy, grassy, minty, quite long. Seems I did not come to terms with the agricole style yet.
Stařený agricole, celkem výrazně jde cítit sud. Poctivých 6 možná 6,5.

Alkohol: 43 %
Původ: Martinik
Aroma: Vyzrálá, výrazná, hutná a zároveň uhlazená vůně, s cedrem, kůží a karamelem. Nejintenzivnější složkou je cedr s kůží. V druhé vlně květinové aroma,
vůně je vrstevnatá a občas vykouknou plástve, až připomíná Angosturu. (88 b)
