This is a really good sipping rum, with the addition of coconut water. I tried batch 3, which had a nice combination of sweetness and a bit a salinity from the coconut water, but it isn't over powering, and the flavors come through on the finish. It is really refreshing and I could see drinking this on a summer's day.

This is good. Mixing the rum with coconut water gives it a much more authentic taste that those ridiculously artificial coconut rums like Bacardi. There isn't much else to this. A little punch, no complexity, no finish. Just good pineapple taste. Would make a nice mixer.

Fantastic sipping rum with a wonderful smoothness.

Damn had no idea the concept taking cask strength rum and proofing down to 40% with coconut water versus regular water. Better than adding sugar and flavorings. An enjoyable hot climate beverage no complaints

Quite simply, the BEST rum Iโ€™ve EVER had.
Donโ€™t bother mixing it. Itโ€™s just fine on its own. My only critique is with the name, folks are going to expect something like โ€œMalibu Rumโ€. If thatโ€™s what youโ€™re after, youโ€™re in the wrong place! This is an exceptional sipping rum and Iโ€™ve found that the best part (almost) is when your glass is finished, the aroma that it leaves behind is more intoxicating than the rum!!! I linger in the aftermath of this AWESOME rum every night. Iโ€™ve had many and NONE comes close to this beauty!!!
Update 6/2/2024: Just got batch #12! Won double gold in San Francisco! Their best batch yet! Much smoother than any before with the possible exception being batch #9. Has a very subtle butter scotch taste on the back. Iโ€™m proud to say Iโ€™ve been able to taste all batches from #3 through #12 and have a bottle of #2 Iโ€™m saving for a special occasion.
Suffice it to say I LOVE THIS RUM!

Well I saw a lot of reviews regarding this rum so I have to give it a try, itโ€™s not what I was expecting a little salty with a hint of sweet, not my top choice for sipping.

Tasted a sample of Batch #3 and was pretty impressed. Coconut water is used to let down cask strength rum, which yields a more viscous mouth feel without very much coconut flavor. This is not like other artificially flavored rums. Subtle sweetness and a nice long finish.

This is a very particular rum in that there's context that goes around it (similar to rating an agricole - you need the context of what they're trying to do). In this case there is a long tradition in island nations to knock a coconut down and put rum directly into it to consume with a straw or to take coconut water ice cubes to put into your rum. This rum basically cuts the corner of having to do that and does it for you but without tasting artificial. The nose is just a tad coconut you can barely notice it, the taste is definitely 8+ year aged rum, the finish burns like a 3 year old rum, think abuelo 12. Definitely worth it whenever you have a Miami mind-set or are watching Scarface.

i had batch 7 - not sure if that makes a difference. love the story with this brand. wanted to do a head to head tasting with Plantery when it finally gets to Canada but it was part of todays tasting. this is NOT Malibu. Unfortunately the coconut taste is not as pronounced as reviews make it sound as I'm a huge coconut fan. This is a rum with an essence of coconut that is supportive and complimentary to the overall taste of the bottle. coconut is the most forward of the back notes in smell and taste but is not overwhelming. easily sipped and look forward to blending with Stiggins to make a great summer drink. Addition of coke almost makes it cherry flavored. Not a huge fan of flavored rums and this is no exception. Cheers.

Got rave review from a liqueur store person, but to mild for my taste. And the coconut was hyped a lot but just to mild
