I did not have high expectations here. Very smooth good quality rum. On the Spanish tradition side. Honey and caramel.

This rum has such an amazing aroma of fresh banana’s and caramel. The taste is just as good as the aroma, I taste nice notes of cinnamons and a sort of vaguely sweet caramel taste. I definitely recommend this rum.

Delicious rum i say. The right sweetness for me. Nice aroma with caramel and nutty flavors.
Definitely will buy this one again.

Note: I'm a sipper. My opinion is based on sipping characteristics.

After few nights with this, I'd say there are way better contestants I've given a 7 and contrary to other reviewers, I don't feel this one delivers that much. That said, I've had better time with rums quarter claimed age, goldens even. I mean, it's not bad by any means, it just does not have particularly distinguishable profile or anything peculiar that would set it from the bunch. A dash of water doesn't open up any specific flavours or aromas either, just kind of mildly reduces the afterburn, which is not that hard anyway. As a side note, I find it suspiciously dark, suspiciously sweet and as my head hurts the next morning, I'd speculate there's a lot of sugar/caramel involved. I'm not one of those "oh, it's heavily dosed, so it's shit" kind of chaps, but it kind of brings me Zacapa vibes and that's a fat minus in my book.

Nice rum with oak and vanilla flavour. But strong and sharp after taste.

Bottle gifted by my friend Joseph. Pours a brownish amber in the glass. Aroma yields cocoa and interesting notes of hay/straw. Banana esters are big here. Lots of toffee and treacle flavors to the upfront bolus of candy sweetness. Cherries. Pie cherries, though. Remarkable thing is the graceful easy-going palate with almost no burn from start to finish. I could guzzle an entire bottle of this without realizing it. But I won't. This may be a very under appreciated gem here.

In the nose you smell almonds, sweet tropical fruit, light lemon, vanilla, caramel, pineapple, cherry and vanilla. And that smells pretty good.

At first the taste is quite heavy, sweet and syrupy/sticky. The mid-palate develops nutty notes of almonds and coconut, it is quite sweet. Towards the rear is more fruity – pineapple, flambΓ©ed bananas, joined by some oak and dried fruits. The finish is very sweet, leaving a sticky residue in the throat. But it is quite a long finish. Warmth from a touch of spice and a hint of oak, but it does leave a teeth grinding and cloying sensation.

Conclusion: This is more of a liqueur than it is real rum (therefore, a 6). After looking in my glass the next morning, I noticed the much syrupy sugar in the glass. If you were to drink a bottle a week you wouldn't have any teeth left. If you like sweet rum, then this is about the best thing you drink along with Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva. The flavors are well balanced.

The nose of this rum is almonds, no doubt about it. For me the aftertaste had a bit more of an "earthy" feel to it, not really likable.
