Přechází do pálivé ostrosti
Dozvuk: Med, opět přezrálé ovoce, bylinky, dřevo. Vysychá
Sladkost: 0/3
Velmi zajímavá a nevšední rumová laskomina. Podle mého názoru jasně nejlepší Mhoba.
Surprenant de longueur et de puissance, a tester absolument !!!
Amateurs de ron espagnols passez votre chemin, ce rhum est pour les amateurs de rhums agricoles...
Pleasure for true lovers of agricol rum. Beautiful bottle, beautiful label, beautiful rum story, soft taste with longer finish .... I'm excited :)
This is a exceptionally good rum even though ita high proof it still doesnt burn
lepidlo, lehký ester, dřevo, med, květiny, ovoce, čekal jsem trochu víc.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Coming in at a nose tingling 65% ABV, this rum is a pot distilled rum from fresh pressed Sugar cane juice and aged for an undisclosed amount of time, but by some accounts a little over 1 year, in French Oak in South Africa.
I have zero expectations coming in because I know so little about Mhoba and have never had any rum from South Africa. So this is all around a brand new experience for me.
The nose on this rum is mysterious, fascinating, and yet familiar all at once - and not at all what I would expect from a French oak aged rum. On the nose I get a delightful combination note of Cinnamon Churros Toffee that a local shop sells. It’s one of my favorite deserts to get locally and this rum oozes it in spades - so off to a flying start. Next I get Black Cherry Ice cream (one of my favorite flavors) accompanied by caramel, liqueur chocolates, and papaya. With a little added water I get the distinct combo note of Mango Lassi. Altogether a fairly fantastic nose
Taking a sip over a single small ice cube (because I don’t need to paint strip my esophagus), I get a rush of that delightful Cinnamon Churros Toffee. Unfortunately, that fades quickly into slight Mango Lassi, caramel, and Cognac. The latter notes not being bad by any stretch - in fact they are quite tasty - but man I need more of that Cinnamon Churros Toffee rum note in my life. That’s just delightful, and it was taken away from me too quickly on the palate.
Thankfully, the Cinnamon Churros Toffee note returns and lingers on the finish for a while before slowly fading into caramel and faint Black Cherry ice cream. Finally, after a while I am left with the aftertaste of Coca Cola which is actually rather fascinating in its own right.
So this was an interesting experience. I definitely enjoyed it but at times I feel like the best part of the dram is pulled out from under me too quickly. The flavors also blur together a little bit. The whole experience leaves me feeling both delighted and also slightly disappointed that the notes don’t stick around longer. The finish is long that’s true but those delightful notes run a bit. This rum is pretty good, very good at times, but it perhaps falls just short of truly great.
