Really enjoyed this rum. Hints of vanilla but not overpowering or too sweet. Subtle and can be enjoy on its own or with favorite mix.
Starts out super sweet, almost reminds me of a rum from the country of Trinidad (as opposed to the town in Cuba), but fades into a really smooth and wonderful sipping rum.
Additionally it's worth noting that the photo here is incorrectly of the 7yr, not the 15yr.
I canโt recall a rum that was easier to sip, itโs smooth, simple, and straight forward. Lots of caramel and molasses on the nose. Mellow taste with medium spice and medium finish.
It will be easy to forget this one, not in a bad way but that nothing really jumps out. Quite generic. Likely perfect for someone just getting into rum who wants something easy to sit back and relax with, could easily get through a few glasses in a sitting
Im pretty sure this has added caramel colouring. Spicy and smokey on the nose and in taste , slightly dry with some wood then a taste I can't put my finger on ?
It's not that pleasant if im honest.. a genuine 15 yr old that makes a better mixer than a sipper unfortunately..
I was looking forward to an Havana club alternative in Alberta. this is wonderful but about 50% more expensive than the selection de maestros. same great smell and taste - honestly don't know who would win a blind taste test. this had a cleaner smell and taste than HC but the HC taste was more complex and "adult". finish was better with HC also. regardless - both are great sippers and enjoy them for a different reasons. HC wins on taste and overall value.
A very pleasent nose, not so strong on barrel as the color coild suggest. Added molasses? A super smooth taste, typical spanish style sweetness with hints of vanilla and wood. Extremely smooth finish with clean aftertaste.
The 41% is discuised in the flawors and sweetness...
I was offered this rhum and this is a very good surprise. Very good taste andnot too strong
For the price this was amazing.
My first Cubian rum, the first sip took me by surprise, by my second glass it was great.
Definitely a good sipping rum and when you mix it you still get flavour.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
