Santa Teresa 1796 rum is produced in Venezuela and aged using the solera system that blends rums aged between 4 and 35 years. Before bottling, the rum is aged for a further year in large French oak casks to marry the blends.
This rum was first created in 1996 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the establishment of the distillery, the Santa Teresa Hacienda.

Had my sister pick a bottle up when she was traveling. Beautiful bottle popped the cork and was greeted with a wonderful almost familiar aroma wow ! Reminds me of Dictador 12 , I mix all my rums 1 shot rum 2 shots coke 2 shots water with two ice cubes and man does this rum feel nice in the throat very smooth very easy drinking . I recommend if you get a chance pick a bottle up and enjoy , note : my buddy drinks state on the rocks and loved this rum
Trรจs bon rhum dans la classe moyenne, apprรฉciable pour la routine.
One of my favorite rums but it disappears to fast! Truly a great rum that isnโt overpriced.
And no added vanilla. In fact no added anything. Just a great, natural rum.
So you're drinking real rum here. Not sugared alcohol from certain other Venezuelan "rums".
Delicious, smooth, good good good good drink.
Have to say I feel dicky when I get into the flavour description but if you like the smooth notes and subtle complexities of the plantation 20th anivessary rum, you will like this!
If you're looking for a complex flavor in a dry aged rum, this is it.
Solera = complex aging technique that blends older and younger rums. Average age tastes like a 25 year in this bottle.
Santa Teresa gets good ratings so I tried. Its good, but for $35, there are much better rums. Not buying this one again unless I get for $20.
Really pleasant rum but with very short aftertaste.
The Rum Barrel Review
"On the nose thereโs a lovely dark profile. Fresh ground coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, vanilla, plums. There are some tropical fruits like pineapple and passion fruit, followed by a slight grassy note. Nutmeg, old leather, tobacco and white pepper. On the palate it goes down so easy. Milk chocolate, vanilla, honey, mango, toffee and cashews. Canned pineapple, blackcurrant, coconut cream and coca cola. The tobacco note is back along with some cinnamon. Not crazy sweet, fairly well balanced and easy going. Cocoa butter and orange marmalade. Towards the end is where you get a bit more oak spices and some alcohol heat. The finish is short with cocoa nibs, some oak tannins and maple syrup."
Has a nice light sweet vanilla note.
"Spicy notes and a oaky lavour are very pleasant and not overpowering."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Santa Teresa 1796 Solera!
Quick review-
Product of Venezuela, made from a solera blend of rums aged 4 to 35 years then finished for an extra year in French oak casks.
On the nose I'm getting caramel, butterscotch vanilla and cherrie.
First sip- not too different from the nose. Lots of vanilla and molasses popping out. Subtle hints of almond and oak. Fairly smooth with a nice long lasting burn on the finish. Doesn't list this in the flavor profile but I'm tasting cherrie on the exhale.
I could see me keeping a bottle of this on deck at all times. Very good quality rum and not crazy expensive.
