New Grove Bourbon Cask

Kedelig rom uden nogen form for eftersmag og generelt meget intetsigende.

Drank this rum as a part of the green rum box. Tried it neat, like all of the rums from the box. Wasn't the worst one in the box, but not far from it.

my second experience with New Grove and a complete contrast in experiences. Its all about the bourbon - the smell the taste the burn. Wasn't unpleasant but this was not a rum forward experience.

Duft: vanilje, karamel, træ (duften er god)
Smag: let sødme, en anelse røg (ikke for meget), er lidt spændende & lidt kedelig.

Ron especiado, toques de madera, y algun dejo frutal. Agradable pero nada especial

The smell immediately reminds of whisky/bourbon. And there is very little sugar in the taste, but quite a burn as well. Not really my taste.

Fairly mediocre. Tastes more like cheap bourbon than rum. Nothing interesting of note going on here.

Nice bourbon spicy wood flavor, but it has too little of it and mostly resembles whisky than rum.

I was happy to see a sample of New Grove, as it would be my first time trying this brand.
The color is natural, nice amber.
Moving to aroma: It's quite fresh and sweet, notes of banana and oranges are dominant, and there is also some lacquered wood.
Taste: This rum is definitely unsweetened. Dry profile, quite sharp, bitter. The New Grove tastes nothing like the aroma would suggest - notes of pepper, wood, and loads of spices, a slight rubbery taste.
Aftertaste: Warm, bitter. Notes of very dark chocolate, wood, mint, and a tiny hint of sweetness.
Summary: My expectations were perhaps a bit higher but one has to keep in mind the low price tag. For me, it's just easily forgettable, and the taste is below average.

Was not sure if its a 5 or 6 so 6 it is as it is not so sweet. It is a bit bourbony indeed, but regretably forgetable. Nice bottle though for those who care. Based on tasting a 2cl sample.
