My version is from 2007 with 55%
The nose reminds me of Reunion Maison Du Rhum. Because of the grains.
First I get some grains and the fresh sugar cane aromas, then the typical grasy notes with sweeter notes of burned sugar. Some dry fruits, vanilla and flowery notes in the background. A good nose overall, the flavors are dark with grasy agricole notes.
The taste starts with fresh sugar cane, grains, then grape seeds and sweeter notes of burned sugar. Continued with dry fruits and grasy notes. Some heavy notes like gum and slightly bitterness are there from the tannins of the wood.
The middle taste is sweeter with again burned sugar, grains, grape seeds, dry fruits and grasy notes. The mouth became very dry and I get some orange peel at the end. The woodinfluence was strong, the wood is not clearly on the palet but you will notice the tannins.
The finish starts spicy, not as sweet as the middle taste, grape seeds, dry fruits, grains, barrel and mint.
The aftertaste is a little bit dirty, with moldy wood, grapes, grains, gras and earth.
I like dark rhum with grasy flavors and grains in the taste. It's quite complex and a little bit too sharp.
Therefore I would rate it with 87 points.
