I was pleasantly surprised when I tried this rum, great bouquet and bold flavor, probably the best rum made in the USA. I bit pricey though.

This rum makes a great presentation. It is somewhat similar on the palate to Richland, in that it tastes more like a bourbon. Woody and not too sweet. Beautiful amber hue in an equally beautiful bottle. It's a great sipper, and I wouldn't share it with just anyone.

I've noticed others posting it was a decent rum but it wasn't worth the money so I stayed away. Everytime I go to TW I check this out. It's been for sale at $68. Well, my last trip the bottle was going for $44. WHAT??? OK, now I'm going for it. I find it similar to Papa Pilars sherry finish rum at the same price so seeing I like Papa Pilars and both are the same price and both use Louisiana cane I just couldn't leave without it. If you can find this rum at this price it will not disappoint! Now, if the price goes back up I will certainly back off! One more note, this is so so close to Papa Pilar that I'm wondering if they are both the same rum from the same distillery? I've been to Papa's in Key West and they do not distill and when I asked where all they told me was Louisiana. Interesting! My next trip to TW I will be buying both and doing a side by side taste testing so stand by!

The score is 7.1 while writing - I'm confused. It's damn good rum - dry, but rich and a just little bit sweat. I like Bayou Single and Select, this one is for sure a class or two better.

Don't hesitate if you'll find this for less then 55 euro.

Mooie kleur, smaken van hout, fruit, caramel. Lange afdronk pittig van smaak.

Dark gold. Maple syrup caramel toffee aroma. Pepper on the tip of your tongue. Cinnamons. Hot rum. Seems way stronger than 80 proof. I like the mid flavors of leather sawdust oak and treacle. Shockingly super quick finish just disappears. Unusual and interesting. Re-rate 7/23/23- huge marzipan aroma. Lots of almonds. Woody finish. Bit of tobacco. I like it even more than before and raise my score.

Tasted at Flotsam Paradise March 24, 2023
Light gold color
Very aromatic, butterscotch sweetness
Flavor: peppery, but finishes more sweet. I'd blend this with something and add cinnamon. The heat lingers, and it's burning my lips a bit

Great enjoyed over a big cube and paired it with a cigar. Dark rum with soft vanilla and molasses notes.

This is good stuff. I have learned bourban aging is not always the best. It takes great skill to age properly in bourban barrels. This is one of the best American bourbon barrell aged rums I have tried. Rich nose of brown sugar and mollasses. Nice hint of marzipan and almond. Tase is not sweet. Silky smooth. Viscous, fills and coats your pallet. Tons of brown sugar impression but uniquely, not sweet. This sweetness is balanced by exacting aging. Everything about this rum is balanced. Nice even bite. Smooth notes of vanilla, grass and raisin. So supple and easy to drink. Ends with a fairly deep spicy and cinnamon finish. I like Louisianna rum. This is the best I have tried. Definitely local cane. Definitely crafted. Easy sipper. Best neat. I will likely come back and give this a 9. Right now this is a SOLID 8.5 This is a very high quality rum.

This rum is interesting but isn’t nearly impressive like other rums in this price range. Tough, sharp and too keen.
