Millonario XO

Nice balanced, fine rum. Maybe little more sweet, but not unpleasant. Good rum, but for this price I expected little more.

Thanks a lot Vomi for sending me a sample. It's a 40% rum from Peru, known for its fancy bottle.

Although the aromas are not too intense, the first olfactory sensation is overwhelming sweetness. After the sugary shock, smokey and leather notes appear, followed by burnt sugar and ethanol. After some time the aroma becomes sour, with notes of sour tropical wood, beginning to rot, as well as rotting apples.

Sipping this rum made me realize what a sugar bomb is. This rum is sweet with hints of sourness. Burnt sugar dominates, accompanied by a thick syrupy mouthfeel. After getting used to this sweetness, milky and creamy notes come into play, with vanilla pudding, banana and almond. There is a short, sweet cinnamon finish. Notes of cinnamon and wood appear also in the aftertaste.

In blind tasting, I'd classify this rum to the Abuelo family. It's extremely sweet with some sourness, entirely not what I like. Moderate complexity is a positive aspect but there is little coherence between aromas and tastes.

I’m lucky enough to be in Peru and taste this soft smelling glas of Millonario xo. When you taste it you’re happy you tried it. It’s aged very balanced and the taste palate is really wide. If you can buy it, don’t hesitate!

duft af tobak, tørrede frugter og karamel. Smag af fad og tobak med lidt sødme, men også et hint af peber eller krydderi. Sød eftersmag. Jeg ligger et sted mellem 8 og 9, så måske den mest er til 8, men nu har jeg købt en flaske, så jeg kan give den et skud mere. One of my favourite Rum. It s a very good taste a very nice colour.

Vôňa korenistá. Chuť vymykajúca sa všetkému, čo som kedy pil. Zaujímavá sladká chuť, Ale ten sirupový podtón na záver mi vadil neskôr, čo výrazne zhoršilo rating rumu. 70 € za fľašku je zlodejina

This is a very good rum, but it just doesn't do it for me, if you understand what I mean. For some this is their favourite, for me it just somehow doesn't quite work. Lots of flavour, just not the right one im looking for.

Dette er en særdeles god rom. Jeg er vild med smagen, helt klart et genkøb.
