The exact name is Millonario Solera Reserva Especial 15 and it comes from Peru. It is a solera that is aged in different types of barrels (pure oak, bourbon barrels and sherry oloroso barrels) for up to 15 years. In 2008, the rum won the award at the Florida Rum Festival as the best rum in the over 15 years category.
Bottle: A classic tall bottle that is entirely braided with palm twigs. The surprise is the screw cap, which is more typical for very cheap rums.
Colour: Dark amber. But for me, the rum was quite haze in the glass. It was probably the bottle with the rum from the bottom of the barrel.
Nose: Pleasant and not astringent. The higher sweetness was already present in the aroma. There was vanilla, honey, cocoa, raisins, caramel and cloves.
Taste: It's so mild as to be actually a bit uninteresting. The taste is again dominated by sweetness. I also smelled caramel, honey, vanilla, nuts, gingerbread and raisins. The wood is basically non-existent, which surprised me a bit in the context of the haze sample.
Finish: Short.
Summary: This is a very smooth rum that is especially suitable for beginners. It is similar in taste to the green Diplomatico, but it is more subtle.
Rating: 7,5/10
I was not impressed with this sweet rum. I guess itβs not in my wheelhouse for sippers and it was too sweet for a cocktail mixer. Sorry
One of the sweeter i tested. If you like sweet rum with vanilla taste it's the one.

Upfront I have to note that I did not taste this rum at ambient temperature as usual. It was delivered warm, I guess by prewarming the glass with steam from the coffee maschine. The sensory result was great, with the rum being very volatile in a pleasant way. Not too sweet, tobacco and dried fruit notes.
Great rum for price, little but sweetness but still good, 7/10
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

The bottle looks like shit and resembles "poor brother" of poshy XO cask but actually offers better value for money (had many shots in really expensive restaurant though but online the rum is quite affordable). Typical Spanish style rum, surely some sugar has been added, surely similar to XO but had XO too long ago to really compare.
